State Government Launches Universal Healthcare Scheme for Rural Areas
The Rajasthan government has launched a comprehensive universal healthcare scheme aimed at providing free medical treatment to residents in rural areas across all 33 districts.
Scheme Benefits
Under the new initiative, beneficiaries will receive free outpatient and inpatient treatment at government hospitals, coverage for up to Rs 5 lakh for serious illnesses, and free medicines from Jan Aushadhi centers.
Infrastructure Development
The scheme includes plans to upgrade 500 Primary Health Centers to Community Health Centers and deploy 1,000 new ambulances across the state.
Implementation Timeline
Health Minister Dr. Raghu Sharma announced that the scheme will be rolled out in phases, with complete coverage expected by March 2026.
Over 2 crore families are expected to benefit from this initiative.
